I have a fiberglass buggy listed on ebay for sale. I have just been contacted by a potential purchaser from the UK. Other than parts, I have never shipped over seas.
What should I do to protect myself payment wise, what information is required to release for wire transfer, how long does a wire transfer take to "clear" so it will not be recended?
The physical shipping portion is the easy part, I will leave it to the purchaser to locate a shipping company and I will just drop it off to them. _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

You don't have to do anything, they cannot remove money with the bank information you provide.
Once the money arrives, they cannot reverse it.
(According to my bank)
You have to give them your:
Routing # (on your checks or statement)
Bank account # (on your checks or statement)
SWIFT code (international bank id)
I've also had to provide my:
local bank name/address/phone #
home name/address (some banks require this to match it up with the bank account #)
but not in all cases.
International wire times can vary.
I've had some take 2-3 days, 1-2 take a week.
It depends if your bank has to use an intermediary for international transfers. This adds a step and takes longer. _________________ How to Post Photos

|
|
Hi everybody,
I was wondering if anyone ever heard or dealt with the shipping company:
World Express LTD, www.worldiexpress.com.
Because I (The Netherlands, Europe) want to buy a VW bus from a guy (in the USA) who proposed this company as a save way of doing business. The seller pays the company, which stores the money in some non-profit secured fund, and after arrival and inspecting of the bought goods, the money is released to the seller.
But I have mixed feelings about the company. The problem is that I cannot reach them by phone in the UK or the USA. And shouldn't they be connected to some controlling authority.
How do I know if I can trust this company?
Any thoughts?
thnx,
Chris |

I recently used TransTrade to ship parts and equipment from Seattle, WA to me in Thailand. They were very good and the price was reasonable. Don't know about a whole car though.

Help!
I want to ship a complete bus front suspension and steering box/column from Worcester in the UK to Durban, South Africa.
The seller's putting the parts onto a pallet for me and will supply me with rough dimensions, but has no way of getting a weight on the items for me.
Who can assist me with this, please?
Many thanks.
Kind regards,

What's the best way to ship small tools like wrenches and pliers from Germany?
I checked both FedEx's and UPS' websites and their rates are insane, 60 Euro for a small envelope, I thought it can't be right so I actually called the costumer service and they told me that's correct. 8 Euro "jet fuel fee", are you kidding me?
Anyway, what's the best shipping company for US and elsewhere? Is DHL the only option shipping from Germany? DHL does not offer door-to-door tracking as far as I know.
Maybe some experienced users can share their wisdom, thanks. |

Well, you see, PayPal has it's own specific requirements for proof of delivery:
https://www.paypal.com/my/webapps/mpp/security/sell-shippingrecommendations
Quote: |
Proof of delivery
You need online tracking information from a shipping company that:
Shows the status as delivered.
Shows the date of delivery.
Includes the recipient’s address, showing at least the city/state or ZIP code (or their equivalent).
For items valued at $250 USD or more, includes proof of the recipient’s signature to confirm delivery.
|
DHL in Germany does not offer that, therefore it's not possible to ship from Germany in accordance with PayPal guidelines regarding 'proof of delivery' which means the seller will loose any dispute if a buyer files a claim of merchandise not received.
There is no longer a "as gift" option with PP in Germany. Flat fees for bank wire transfer from US to Germany are very high.
Has someone figured out a solution acceptable for both parties other than split the FedEx shipping cost between seller/buyer?

ok, if you want to be entangled in the ebay complexities then so be it.
if you'd stated your reasons for not using the simplest and cheapest option then i wouldn't have bothered replying. |

Has nothing to do with ebay, same PP rules apply if you sell something here on Samba Classifieds. |

ebay owns paypal.
you'd have to be selling some really expensive pliers and screwdrivers to make that shipping worthwhile.
i have a whole bunch of old tools here if you're ever in my area. |
