This is my '62 rag that I bought late last summer. It's my first air-cooled VW!
I'm looking forward to meeting more Ontario air-cooled people at the shows this year. |

I spotted a beige '66 Beetle at the Port Hope Ontario McDonalds this afternoon. Belong to anyone on here? |

My '69 is in Alberta at my dad's place until Sept; he's rebuilding the 1600 sp for me. Looking forward to some nice drives this fall.
Anyone else in South Etobicoke?[/img] |

Happy Spring everyone!
Does anyone know of a mechanic in the Brampton area who would do replacement ball joint and possible replacement master cylinder work? I've been out of the loop for a while and lost track of everyone.
Thanks for any help! |

Hi Patty,
Have you tried calling Manuel at VeeWorld Motors on Hanson Drive just South of Queen?
Last time I talked to him he still had a thing for the old VW Bugs.
He's been in the same location for a million years too.
Can miss the place, has a Red 60's Bug on the roof of his shop. |

Hiya Sport bugger.
Thaks for the reply =)
Vee World is still indeed there but unfortunately Manuel has passed away. It's been a few years since I was there and it appears his son is still running the garage. When I called him last week he said he no longer works on old beetles.
I called the local wreckers a couple days ago to ask if they knew a shop -- they refered me to Dave in Rexdale, Auto Shop. I'm happy to find him--seems a/c mechanics are getting scarce again! |

Hi Patty,
That's awful news about Manuel,
And to find out the son isn't carrying the same interest.
How did you make out with your quest for Ball Joint and Master Cylinder work? |

Sorry I don't know of an auto electrician SB--hope you find one soon so you can get on the road!
I did get my car fixed and am soooo happy! It turns out I only needed a brake system flush and bleed and not a new master cylinder. I also got the whole set--- 4 new ball joints and an alignment. The mechanic also spotted I needed brake light switches too so got that taken care of, not bad for a car that sat for a couple years.
Thanks for asking! beep beep! |
