2 cars.
'78 Plymouth Sapporo, dark brown with tan interior, light surface rust, ran like silk on glass. Given to me for free, I installed a new exhaust system on it and drove it for 6 months. Parked it for the summer and had my brother back into it with his '01 Ram 2500 4X4 and totalled it. I was never given any $$$ for it and my brother actually had the balls to blame me for parking it where it was and causing the collision.
'88 Fox wagon. I loved that car. Rusty but it kept going and going...I only ever replaced the rear struts and wheel bearings. I could go anywhere, do anything, haul anything with that car. I sold it as I didn't need it to commute on the highway to work in the winter anymore. I sold it to an employee who resold it to a girl who blew the head gasket out of it and overheated the car. She abandoned it and it found it's way back to me as a parts car. I guess I have it back but it's not worth fixing. _________________ 1970 Campmobile Click to view image

^^^ Now I know who to contact when I need parts for my 88 GL.
Saw a Fox wagon pulling a trail down the Interstate last year.
Mine is my winter beater too. The car was a free-bee. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

My '03 Wrangler Sahara Edition. It was fully loaded, hardtop/soft top, 6 Cylinder, automatic and one hell of a car. The previous owner had babied this thing so it was immaculate

A '72 Impala 2 door, 400 small block w/ factory fender skirts when I was 17 in '78(based on what they go for these days). But I really miss the '67 Westy,my first bus in '84. Got rear ended. |

No, it can become an organ donor.
I drive an 88 Fox as a daily driver. People like me do need parts. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

Back in my water cooled days I built this 92 Jetta and drove it for 6 years before regrettably selling it to a guy in my neighborhood that kept hounding me about doing so every time I saw him.
My dad spotted it a couple years later for sale again. It had some shoddy paint work done on the passenger side but otherwise looked just like it did when I sold it to him. When he asked the owner about it he was a fed a story about him being the original owner and buying it new in California then sending it to a shop in Mexico to have all the custom work done. It was all my dad could do to keep a straight face. It's amazing what people will say sometimes to try and sell you something.

I miss my fatty….perfect untouched complete 74 body sitting on a completely restored 75 chassis, CB drop spindles, 2180 engine with a dellorto 48, stinger. All new carpet and rubber, cloth seats out of a jetta. It had 69 fenders and lights out back, along with 69 decklid, shaved turn signals, dechromed body still in primer. It was all tight and right (same way I like my women) just needed a paint job. Sold it to a kid for 2500 so I could secure my 62.
That fatty was a sweet running/driving machine…wish I still had it for a daily. Its been about 12 years now, and I still have a pic of it on the table in the dining room. |

The 69 Ghia I had back in high school. I sold it in 94 when I bought my first new vehicle and regretted it instantly. I found it in the samba classifieds a couple years ago and contacted the seller. It was the same woman that I had sold it to back in 94, she was moving out of state and was going to sell it because she didn't have room for it. I was all set to go buy it back when she changed her mind about selling it. Jump forward a month or two, after I had already bought another car and the seller had completed her move, I found my old Ghia listed in the samba classifieds again. Seems she concluded that she was not going to be able to keep it after all. Too Late! I couldn't have come up with the money at that point and had to let it go. Maybe our paths will cross again someday. |

My 1971 Mercedes 300SEL 6.3. It had NO RUST whatsoever, the interior was perfect and I completely overhauled the air suspension to absolute reliability. The M-100 engine was something to behold and it ran and drove flawlessly. I absolutely LOVED that car and it made me sick to have to sell it. Only thing that makes me sicker is what it's worth now versus how much I sold it for many years ago . Oh well, at least I was able to check this bucket list car off my list when I was 28 and will always have enjoyable memories.
