I didn’t want it to look too new, rather like somebody found it under the backseat when doing the restoration. There’s at least two “mistakes” in it, possibly more. |
What method did you use to age the paper? |
Water, tea, a glue stick and sock lint. |
The sock lint is a nice touch. |

OK just so there’s no misunderstandings, hyper-drive notwithstanding, I have modified my sticker to include this up front.
That should make it pretty clear that this is a replica and not an official document. _________________ Air does not freeze. Air does not boil.

Well it was either that or belly button lint, and I didn’t think I had enough of that. _________________ Air does not freeze. Air does not boil.

"Riveria" is most likely a variation of "Rivera"-----like Geraldo |

Yeah there’s a few things wrong there, I don’t think hyperdrive is hyphenated either… _________________ Air does not freeze. Air does not boil.

A variation made by a person who misspelled "Riviera". I've seen this mistake numerous times, sometimes when describing the VW accessory alloy rims. The Mediterranean coast in France is called the Riviera... And of course Buick's model.
The signature in the "window sticker" (formally known as the Monroney label, per the U.S. senator Mike Monroney from Oklahoma; and implemented into a federal requirement for the US auto industry per the Automobile Information Disclosure Act of 1958) is J Stuart Perkins. His office was at Volkswagen of America headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey from the early 1960's thru his retirement in 1977.
For his retirement, some of the VWoA VPs and the VW Dealer Council ordered a silver 1977 Beetle standard sedan to be built with all the factory accessories, and presented it to him. It was the very last officially built Beetle sedan officially imported into the USA. There was a photo of the group with Mr. Perkins in the Beetle in Mr. Bob Holbert's office at his VW dealer Holbert's in Warrington, PA which I saw at the vintage VW meet held there in Oct. 1988. Mr. Holbert was in the photo as part of the group. Mr. Perkins initially kept the Beetle at his home in Westchester County, New York. In the early 1990's it was displayed outdoors at the Vintage VW Club of America spring meet in Orangeburg, New York which was the closest distributor. He and his wife relocated to Sarasota, Florida in that time, took the Beetle with them, which was occasionally serviced at the local VW dealer. My mom had a condo in the next town, and when I'd drive her Audi to the dealer in Sarasota for service work, the VW dealer was next door. I spoke with the service manager who remembered seeing Mr. Perkins and the Beetle there.
Another interesting VW which was used by Mr. Perkins, but I never saw in person, was a pre-'72 Bay Window deluxe "executive" bus. It was painted silver, had chromed bumpers, and was fitted with a Porsche 912 engine. Mr. Perkins had a personal driver at his office, and drove him to local dealers for visits with it, or to special outings along with some of his office people. |

Super random, but I saw you logged on yesterday, so I’d figure if post this here. It’s exactly what you were looking for (even year) and a bit more complete than the one you made
