Its not going to be cheap, but mine is going in for rechroming. My shop does an acid dip to remove all old chrome, then metal prep (smooth pitting), then a 3 part plating process (tin, copper, and chrome). It's spendy,to say the least, but guaranteed for life. |

Hmmmmm, Tin? Not Nickel? It's usuall Copper (to fill imperfections), Nickel (to help adhesion) Chrome (shiney luster) _________________ 1947 Typ 11a

Back in the day, my buddy and his brother worked at a plating shop. What a horrible environment to work in. At the end of the day, their t-shirts and underwear were rusty, with all the metal dust floating in the air, and the sweat. Ugh.
But I could drop by with a bottle of Crown Royal, and whatever I needed chromed, and get it done by the next day. Tie rods, mufflers, knives, glove box doors, ashtrays, Herrod Helper wing, wiper arms etc. Good times. _________________ sent from a phone using poor grammar and spelling |

Oooooops! Meant nickel, honest.... I haven't gotten the price as yet, still collecting parts to go to the plater, some to powder coat. I did have some parts from an antique deli slicer plated recently, and that ran about $500 for three medium sized pieces . |
