Still waiting on all of my metal so spent a few minutes installing a new fuse block - 12 circuit ATO/ATC with 12 Negative term block as well. I used this in a rewire a few years back and really liked it. It is made by Blue Sea Systems and can be found on Amazon for under $40.

Decided to work on my replacement rear apron. Cut the rust out. Made the reinforcement ends and ends of apron. Need to get some new belts to finish.

I took out the ashtray, wire-brushed it inside and out to get it clean, painted it, then lined the inside with felt. It makes an ideal place to stash my iPod when I plug it in to my (modern) radio. Beats letting it dangle on the floor.
Since I don't smoke it makes the otherwise useless ashtray very useful indeed. _________________ Gone but not forgotten: 1950 Hoffman split (restored in 1966) - another 1950 Hoffman split (restored in 1996) |

Spring time and all the cotton-wood tree pollen making my black beetle to look like it has scallops
pollen bug
I've been having starter problems I pulled the autostick starter and it looked good so I pulled the engine to look at the ring gear
time for a good soapy wash and rewax on the body and try a different starter

After pulling the engine and looking at the flywheel I see what all the noise was when starting.
The fresh air 40hp still has the 6v flywheel and I was using a automatic trans 12v starter motor , most of the teeth on the flywheel were worn and fine steel flakes in the bellhousing.
The engine has been getting noisier every time I'd start it.
I looked at the "Porsche" 12v small generator and just assumed the flywheel was also 12v.
Doh
I went through my flywheel collection and found another 6v flywheel so I'll be installing it and re-bushing the starter bushing and using a 6v starter
nothing but fun
cheers

Would someone know where I can buy pre August, 1955 front fenders?
Are there any businesses who sell these fenders used?
If these fenders turn out to be unavailable, who makes the next best alternative?
Sincerely,
Carl
