Hey justpicked up my first squareback type 4.
I noticed the clutch is barely engaging, im wodering if there is a cable somewhere where I should tighten it?
had same issue on a baywindow and this seemed to fix it.
Cant find it though, spent a while crawling underneath it
Thanks!

These have a hydraulic clutch instead of a cable.

Yes and no. Because of the design of the cylinder seals...its common over a period of time that air gets into the system usually from the slave cylinder. So yes...bleeding fixes that.

The problem is...how did the air get in there? Wink

Its usually the fact that the slave cylinder boot hardens and cracks...let clutch dust in that slowly degrades the single slave seal letting fluid weep past and air in. It usually needs a rebuild kit and/or new slave cylinder if the fluid has been weeping long enough to cause a rust line on the side of the cylinder wall. Ray
