Hey, gotta start somewhere right? So, how about a quick intro and pics of your 356's?
I bought this car in Portland around abouts December. My main passion is 23 Window's but hey, can't turn down an A can I? It is almost running/driving except for the starter issue.
Before...
After..

58 Normal. Not much progress in the last couple of years, though it's a little further along than in this pic. As soon as I can get back on it, I'll start a build thread on THE SAMBA.

Nice! What is your VIN? Would be curious to see how close the three of them are. _________________ Call your Cunado's:

Mark,
I'm pretty sure that it's 147472, though it's been awhile since I've looked at it.

Mine's 105229, wow, all A's so far. But we're not snobs here, post up any of your 356's.
Bulli; your car looks great with the patina!
Mopor; we need to do a shot with both of our cars together.
Wiggy; nice car! I've seen it here on the samba before but never said so.
LHG; missen blue is my fav. Porsche colour. I tried it on my 356C but failed to replicate it miserably! _________________ "There is only one sin; disconnection from self." |

Bought in 1997 for the price of what buses are going for now. Have driven this 250,000+ miles since then. I'm on my 3rd engine, 2nd gearbox, 3rd color change, 2nd set of floor pans and still married to the same wife, lol.
This pic was taken at the 2011 Porsche Parade in Savannah. That is the fountain in Forsyth Park(a mini central park). The fountain was ordered an delivered from Sears Roebuck. _________________ Call your Cunado's:

I bought my '53 in 2007 out of San Diego. Drove it from there to a friends house in Phoenix, shipping it the rest of the way to Florida. I drive it once or twice a week (my bus is my primary driver). It still has its original pans and most parts but was "redone" in the late 70s early 80s. Everything shows its age, but I'm cool with that. It has been uber-reliable...would drive it anywhere!

Heres mine. 1959 356 coupe. Bought new by my dad. Recently given to me after being kept in my garage for the last 16 years. I am truly blessed to be able to own it while he is still here. It just didn't sit all that time but got sparingly used by both of us. _________________ Mic

Guys,
Great photos!
Hey--it is a long story and years in the making but the book that is coming will list some 25,000 Porsche race entries from roughloy 1950 through roughly 1965.
As now, very frequently (well, mostly) people did not note the chassis numbers.
So, Isee some start numbers in the photos. Maybe that is for a race that happened during that time frame which the current owner knows about.
So, if your car was in a race and you want to be sure the chassis number is include in the listing, please tell me what facts you have and we'll do our best.

Trip to Autos International for some interior work back in 2007.
I stopped by work on the way.
Near the Cholame Ca spot where his fatal accident was.
