I am starting this topic for all discussions related to importing a vehicle from the USA to Canada.

Canadian importers who purchase an untitled vehicle in the US need to get the vendor to obtain a title if the US state requires all vehicles to be titled. If the car is in a state where a title is not necessary for anything older than 1981, then an official letter on state letterhead will be necessary stating that the state does not require a title. A copy of the appropriate legislation should also accompany the letter.
