well, i have had 3 other Bugs, this is #4 i acquired yesterday, a clean 1977 Bug. first FI car i have messed with. anyhow, i need some help with this production plate namely the factory paint code. i think it might have been Diamond Silver Metallic originally (due to some paint flaking in side the car), but i cannot find anywhere that tells me the original code. so, here it is, the code on the l side of the plate is "24", and the code on the center of the plate is 115-5051. can anyone help me? i did a search but i still cannot find it.

thanks in advance!!
Josh

For a late model car like your I'm guessing it's Viper Green. Check the color charts on Wolfsburg West's website and I bet you'll find it.

hey, thanks for the reply. everything points to it originally having been Diamond Silver Metallic. everywhere there isn't red, it is silver. i just can't find that darn paint code (24) that is on the production plate. i dont have the other sticker anymore, the one that tells you the regular paint code (L94, for example...). i emailed Wolfsburg West so hopefully they can help me...

D5: Dakota Beige
H7: Brocade Red
A1: Black
K2: Miami Blue

B4: Riyad Yellow
G6: Mars Red

Y5: Viper Green Metallic
W4: Timor Brown Metallic
Y3: Bahama Blue Metallic
Z4: Diamond Silver Metallic
