I'm getting ready to put my supercharger in, and noticed that instead of the aluminum outside half for the generator pulley, i have a 40hp pulley that goes on the supercharger. I've been looking around, and see quite a few photos of installations where the original generator pulley is left stock.

I get the idea that the aluminum bit is just a show piece.

Anybody know more than I do?

If I'm wrong, anybody want to trade my 40hp power pulley for your 36hp generator pulley?

thanks.

My understanding is that the alloy pulley is narrower than the stocker in order to clear the blower belts. The outer half of the stock pulley can also be trimmed to clear the belts. Does your blower pulley have only one groove?

You can buy the correct pulley from that guy back east, he has ads on the Judson registry, George ----, the name escapes me. Its basically a flat piece of aluminum with a beveled back.

All 36hp Judson Kits came with a replacement steel front half of the generator pulley. It was simply a stock sized pulley with the front lip trimmed so as not to foul the inner blower belt.

The alloy pulley halves are an aftermarket replacement and you can get one from George Folchi ([email protected]) or as has been mentioned trim part of the lip off your stock steel pulley.

Although Judson didn't supply a replacement generator pulley half for the 40hp kit most trim the stock pulley as the fit is pretty close.

Thanks for all the tips.

I think I'll try grinding down the pulley I have. Seems I've spent a fortune so far.
