This reminds me of a clever Alec Guinness movie in which a scientist stumbles across a fabric that repels dirt and never wears out. While he thinks this is a great boon to mankind, he is thwarted by textile factory owners and the unions because this fabric will put them out of business since clothes will last forever.

In the end, the fabric exhibits a fatal flaw that causes it to disintegrate. And so it seems the story could repeat itself with "Liquid Glass". The makers of detergents, antibacterial cleaners, waxes and countless other products will want to ensure that this product doesn't succeed.

I work in the silicone business. Specially the use of SiO units in order to produce our products. We make parts for the space station's solar panels, coatings for stealth aircraft, active pharmaceutical ingredients, and other things including implantable materials for breast augmentation and other medical applications. We also make the typical silicone lubricants and coatings. AND I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF LIQUID GLASS!!!

I bet, if its real, they filter it through baking soda or charcoal to lower the PH levels to a legal PPM or PPH.
