Will a 36hp engine fit in a 70's model Ghia? Thank you. _________________ 64 VW Beetle

Why no, as a matter of fact, it won't. But if you want to install an early pan on a late body, bolt in a swing axle tranny and refabricate the rear shock to body mounts then it could work. _________________ "Depression is a malfunction of the instrument we use to determine reality.”

Just a question... why would you want to put a 36 in there when those originally came with a 1500? _________________ oo9less since 2007

I'm guessing he found a ghia with a dead engine, and has a 36 horse burning a hole in his pocket....
Not a good idea 64customs. |

More or less this is the case. No engine in the Ghia, and I have a 36hp in our 64 bug. (don't ask me, ask whomever did it)
But thanks to your help and information I know that it's not at all a smart idea. Thank you. _________________ 64 VW Beetle
