I was thinking about running guages for my 75 vert...oil temp, oil pressure, and cylinder temp..and maybe volts.... I realize you need a guage and a sender for each one (well I don't know if the volt gauge needs a sender) anyway...I believe the oil temp sender goes in the oil drain plug...but were does the oil pressure and CHT senders go???
I'm just trying to get a feel for what I need and make sure I can access all the locations with out having to worry about replacing some sort of gasket or taking something major apart to install these things....is it best to buy the same guage for the same sender...or will the senders work with any guage (I kinda like these mini gauges I found) |

Buy senders that are the same as the gauges. VDO gauge, VDO sender.
Your oil temp can go into one of the pressure relief valves as well as the drain plug.
Oil pressure: the sender usually goes into the same place as the stock oil pressure light switch goes. it shoul also be equiped with two poles, one for the gauge and one for the light.
Cylinder Head Temp sender: UNDER SPARK PLUG #3 ONLY. That cylinder usually runs the hottest of the 4. the sender is basically a large washer with wires coming off of it and will go under a spark plug. Pull the plug and put the sender on it and re-install the plug. _________________ Tehachapi, CA

Exactly, unscrew the old switch and screw in the new sender. Well, if it is a VDO sender, that is what you do... _________________ Tehachapi, CA
