really looking forward to this project! great craftsmanship right there!
Since i`m about to start my chassis also soon and i`m not sure if it`s still straight as it should, could you help me out with some measurements?
I need the measurements marked as RED and want to know if the green lines are both leveled?
I used your picture i hope thats ok |

The green lines are level. Frame width is 1004mm, There is a variation in this between busses but believe 1004 is what they were aiming for.
Best to measure end of frame from torsion tube. Frame is 1090mm from center of torsion tube to end of frame measured horizontally along frame rail.
Have a look at my drawings on Grabcad.

See the rear frame set. Download and open the pdf drawings or complete set. You will need to create an account to download. I continue to add to these sets as I progress on my build. _________________ My 64 Kombi restoration

The green lines are in fact parallel. From the top of my head, the rear frame is 95mm higher than the main middle section. I need to verify this.
Please note that the transmission horns, are definitely pointing down ! they are not parallel with the main chassis rails.

Now on to some rather ruff wheel wells.
I took photos with the paint wet to show the uneven ribs. Originally I though it was just damage but now thinking it may be from poor stamping. You can see the ripples on the flat areas that seems to extend to the ribs.
Does anyone have a photo of the rib or notice similar? I don't want to fix this if it was a manufacturing defect.
Also an interesting find is the holes for seat bumpers where hand drilled. After media blasting I could see the burrs on the bottom and the holes are not quite round like they used a dull bit. I had noticed before that the holes were not positioned the same left/right.
