Any idea of the story on this picture? Looks like you have two German soldiers on the left and a German officer next to them. The rest are US soldiers. Everyone looks very cordial. German POWs? Surrender after the nazi's fell?

^ caption says it was taken at gera which is south of leipzig so probably very late in the war. german officer (and men) surrendering to gen evans of div arty (with back to camera)
