Well, to take the subject seriously...
I've been re-watching Enterprise. I was one of the few people who really liked it when it was current, and if anything, it's even better now because we've had so much garbage Trek the last few years.
If you want to see interesting characters who don't talk like teenagers from the 2010s, in thought=provoking multi-faceted stories that still have good looking FX and decent action, watch Enterprise.
Just skip the awful opening credits! |
I liked Enterprise a lot.
I do have one curious finding that kind of fits this subject.....its kind of an important question....to me...
In the lower right hand corner of my laptop computer screen is a little symbol that only lights up when I am NOT connected to a wifi signal.....
....is this or is this NOT a "deathstar"?????
It makes me wonder about microsoft and whatever values they might have....

So do you know the difference between Star Wars and Star Trek?
Star Wars was "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away"
Star Trek is in our future _________________ Glenn

That opening was the best part of the show!
The evolution of exploration, with a crossover from what has already occurred, and then into the STU future.
And that song is fantastic. I've used it during some pretty important occasions.
And of course, YMDV. _________________ If you care for a thing long enough, it takes on a life of its own, doesn't it? Mending old things, preserving them, looking after them on some level there's no rational grounds for it.

Star Trek Shows
The Original Series (19661969)
The Animated Series (19731974)
The Next Generation (19871994)
Deep Space Nine (19931999)
Voyager (19952001)
Enterprise (20012005)
Discovery (2017present)
Picard (20202023)
I remember some of the original series as a kid, but liked the Next Gen, Enterprise, and Discovery. I've seen a couple episodes of Picard but not since 2022. I got rid of cable and don't watch TV any more so I haven't watched the last 2 seasons of Discovery either so not sure what's happening now. _________________ *******************************

The last season of Picard is quite good. It pretty much makes the first two seasons superfluous and even retcons some of the stupider stuff that happened.
They even toned down most of the anachronistic language! _________________ 89 Syncro GL Westfalia 2.1 WBX/WBXaustSS

TNG was my favourite, but overacting Shatner is still great for a laugh.
Gene gets props for the first show about aliens that wasnt about war and them eating us, they were just another civilisation - great statements about race.
...and, the first bi-racial kiss on mainstream television - what will the Children think? _________________ .ssS! |

Nobody's mentioned The Orville yet, doesn't that count? _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

I think there was the animated series called "Lower Decks" running from 2021 too but I never watched it. _________________ *******************************

I watched a bit of the Stargate SG1 series but preferred Stargate Atlantis. That's the series that got Jason Mamoa noticed. _________________ *******************************
