Pulling my front end apart to change the leaking thermostat housing and crack pipe. Valve cover gasket is weeping all around so I’m pulling the intake manifold to get that replaced to and of course the crankcase breather hose shattered as I looked at it. It’s NLA and obviously a used one wouldn’t even survive transit from somewhere. Anyone had any luck with an alternate option? I know those part number was use on MINI’s too. Part number 022 103 474 A
Current list of items are
Tstat housing
Tstat
Crackpipe
Valve cover gasket
Coil packs and spark plugs
Crankcase vent hose
SERP belt and pulley
And whatever else breaks while I’m in there

About to embark on this same project-I’ll try not to “look” at any fragile parts. Keep us posted. |

It’s looking more like repairing it will be the answe. Probably some heat shrink tube holding it back together in position sealing down the entire length to both ends. Finding a new one is likely going to be not cost effective even if one does show up. _________________ 2001 EV MV |

There is an older post on Vortex describing the rebuild of this hose with silicone vacuum tubing.
The pictures seem to have disappeared, but the text is still there and offers a few useful clues: Vortex link
The connectors are Normaquick V2, which are available individually (here's one source).
The hose is 19mm ID. |
