Hello,
I own a 1995 Eurovan 2.5, 5cyl, gas engine. I'm having issues with the check engine light remaining on.

My mechanic has found that the diagnostic codes indicate that the air temp sensor is responsible, but the ATS is good. We even swapped a new one in and nothing changed. The next thought was to check the ECM (pin #37) which also is just fine. Both the mechanic and I are now stumped.

Has anyone else had a similar issue? Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Regards, John

I have a nearly always on CEL on my 95 as well so wondering how to check/diagnose as a code reader that works on the OBD2 cars will not work.

I would measure the resistance from the ECU connector. It could be that there's a break in the harness, or a ground wire broken or not hooked up.

Careful inspection of all the ground wires on the engine is probably also in order generally, as these vehicles are of an age where that stuff breaks down, and it can cause weird issues.

You should get a ross-tech vcds, with the appropriate adapter cable.

Thank you, TheOneTrueQuux. My van is going to the shop tomorrow for brake work, so I will pass on your advice to my mechanic. I'll let you know if anything comes of it.

Cheers, John
