Hoping someone has some thoughts on gettin my crankshaft where it needs to be. I just refreshed the bearings in my 2.5 acu 5 cyl and am trying to figure out a way to keep the crankshaft from riding forward towards the pulley and against the rear thrust washers. The ones I took out were fried with hot spots, also cylinder 5 connecting rod bearing was sheared really bad. I noticed when I put the new connecting rod bearings in as I torqued each connecting rod down and rotated the engine the engine will lock up after I torque the final connecting rod for cylinder 5 ( the one closest to the flywheel). I can se the crankshaft float forward into the oil pump and flush against the rear thrust washers as I rotate the engine and have already noticed shear on the new thrust washer.. any thoughts appreciated.. thanks in advance
