I bought this engine a while ago. It's Aluminium cased, but the engine number doesn't tally with the records I can find.
Can anyone help? The castings date on the side of the pedestal are almost impossible to decipher.

1 - 123 978 means January 1949. The design of the gen-stand and alloy material would go along with "early 1949". Inside the square stamp can possibly "Austausch" (Exchange) be written. Maybe they used a new case to build up a "Austauschmotor" and used the number of a scrap-enginge. At least the low, vacuum-only distributer makes no sense to the rest of the shown parts. A foto of the complete engine could be helpful. |

Thanks for you response.
Most of the ancillaries on this engine are incorrect.
All the list of engines show numbers starting with 1-0xxxxxx. That's why I'm querying this.
