For the Toronto area, would suggest you join and post on the DWK facebook page. All of us are in the west end of toronto. Probably someone in the group can help you out or knows someone who can! I'm one of the admins so will watch for you.

Hi Everyone,
I recently acquired a 71 VW buggy with a 72 type 1 motor. It's taken me several years to finally get a buggy while my friend who owns one harassed me. The buggy isn't on the road as I'm planning to do some electrical and cosmetic work to it in hopes of having it on the road for next year.
I'm happy to read that there's a healthy scene in Etobicoke, at least I'm hoping there still is. I've sent a request for the DWK Facebook page.
See ya around. |

Hi I just found this thread. I'm from Coronation Alberta, not many air cooled VW's around anymore. There is a club in Alberta, I posted on their website a couple years back. No response and most of the posts are quite old so I suspect the club is dead.
I read some of the first few pages and the last one here. I will go through some more to see if there is anyone close to me.
VWs in the family in the past:
'59 panel van
'63 bug
'65 bug
'66 bug
'68 bug
'71 super bug
'73 Mexican standard bug
'66 square back
'71 square back
'69 7 passenger van
'70 411 square back
'76 rabbit
'81 rabbit turbo diesel
'92 jetta 2 door
'02 jetta TDI
'04 jetta TDI
'04 jetta TDI wagon
Sand rail - mixed vintage
Beach buggy - on '71 Mexican chassis
We still have some of the above cars and tinker with them from time to time. I would be glad to hear form anyone north of the border and especially in our neck of the woods(prairie)!
Cheers, Merv |

My wife and I will be flying to Halifax in the end of March or early April 2018.
To visit friends and buy a vehicle to drive across Canada back to BC.
I'd like to cross paths with some of you along the way home
Lending a hand or offering spiritual advice
trading license plates
cheers

Anyone know a mechanic in the durham region of Ontario that can do a safety on a beetle. It still needs some work but is in sound and sea worthy condition. I'm just looking for someone who understands a project car and the potential within. Maybe a bit lenient towards things that are necessary. |

I'm in Jasper, Alberta driving my 1969 1500. There are only 3 bugs in our little town, and one of them is a show only car imported from California. |

So my 15 year old daughter bought her fist car and it happens to be a 74 SB, it needs some work, so it's a project car for her and I to work on together hope to get it safety and inspected this summer. We live in the Stoney Creek (Hamilton) area. We’re looking forward to getting to some car shows this year if any happen. _________________ 74' Super Beetle |

I saw a beautiful green '74 or '75 Super Beetle with the license "DEV EM" driving on Old Church Road in Caledon, Ontario over the weekend.
I have recently moved in the area and would love to connect with the owner.
Thanks,
Kunal |

Over a year an a half since the last post on here, I might as well add to it to revive. In Barrie Ont with a good crew of VW owners in Simcoe/Muskoka. Known as the Das Cruisers, there are plenty of beetles and busses to go around. Look us up on Facebook if interested in coming out to cruise. Hopefully we’re back to normal this summer putting Covid behind us and getting back to more regular car shows in the area. I know other Das Cruisers browse this forum so maybe they’ll post here too. Here’s to this coming summer!
