Looking at a Zenith NDIX on a Deano manifold. The steel preheat tubes have been cut off flush.
I am worried that when trying to get the tubes out.... i could gouge or crack the aluminum manifold.
Has anyone ever attempted to remove the preheat tubes out of a aluminum manifold?
Any idea where I might be able to find some replacement tubes? |

Pics are always helpful.
Aside from that, id assume the channel goes all the way through the aluminum? If so drive one side out by going in the opposite side and using a long punch, chisel, rod, whatever fits. Also heat helps. And if their being difficult, cut a slit length wise is the steel tube so it can collapse some and not hod so much tension on the wall of the aluminum intake.
I can’t believe 50+ people looked at this and no one replied …. _________________ Forced induction can overcome a lot of obsticles that gets in it's way

Typically they are not in there very tight, unless someone used epoxy or something like that. You can also try drilling them out witb a drill thar would still leave material in. The drilling might loosen them and pull them out. You should be able to ffind some aftermarket tiubes. Dont be surprised that youll have to massage them to fit things. |
