What were the correct years for snowflake taillights. I usually see them on Ovals but I have also seen them on early, small squares. Im not sure if they are correct on small square window cars or not. I was actually asking because I have a set and Im tempted to put them on my 62 vert, but I want to have it as correct as possible.

61 still had the glass snowflake lens. Switched to plastic in 62.

They used them in late 55 as well (generally after May55, but sometimes before depending on the options on the car).

I think they began using them late July, early August of 1955.

Wiggy is correct about May for USA spec cars. My un-restored 1955 model year Sunroof Beetle produced for the USA market on June 22nd 1955 still has it's original snowflake tail light assemblies.
