this is how I think a buggy should look- nice vw lights and porsche steering wheel, cool colour and wheels, understated perfection...

All but the front tires. Way to big in my mind but then it looks like it might not be a driver so it would go on and off the trailer just fine.

Very pretty car!

I've been to three Big Bear Manx Club runs and the greatest thing about going is seeing the individuality in each and every Buggy build. Over 200 buggies and not one the same.
No Buggy is the same no matter if it is a Manx or and other copy.

Everyone builds it the way they see fit whether it is budget, use or artistic taste.

You can not say one is better or worse than the other......Some spend $80,000 on their buggy having it built professionally and others gather parts for years to make it a cheap and practical fun machine for the whole family. Others build it to beat the everlivin snot out of it in the hills and desert.
You need to talk to each owner and find out the why and how before you make a comment.

Chip Foose built that with his eye for art. It was built the way he thought it should look. Not for anyone else.
It might not be for everyone but it is a very nice buggy and I would be happy to tell him that while shaking his hand.

The 356 seats and the Dash Gauges look fantastic. The hood crest is a nice touch also.

For 30K you can buy a 3-cylinder radial aircraft-style engine to put in your Manx.

There are a couple youtube videos on the build. It was built in the Manx shop with 100% new EMPI parts as part of a Foose/Manx/EMPI build. This was was a throw back or nod to the Porsche. He's building a second one alongside it with more Foose style in it.
