Google is complaining that the site is not secure and references the site cert that was just renewed last week. This happens on my samsung galaxy tab a and cell phone, but not on my desktop. How do i resolve it? |

A couple other people told me that recently too.
Thanks for letting me know it's only one of your devices.
The certificate is renewed and not expired so there should be no issue.
I tried to research this issue via Google and it said to clear your cookies and cache and make sure your Google Chrome is updated to the latest version.
Unfortunately one person said they checked all of that and it did not resolve the issue for them.
If you can figure it out or if the above "updates" fixes it, please let me know.
I'm not able to reproduce it myself to try things here as everything works on our 2 computers and 2 cell phones.
I also tried both Google Chrome and Firefox on my own computer and phone everything is ok on all of those. _________________ How to Post Photos

What browser are you using?
I have a Samsung S10 and have problem using Firefox or Chrome. _________________ Glenn

Does the site have a red lock next to web address?
Here it has the normal little grey lock and everything is fine
Bad message sent in by a user - Are you getting the same?
My computer (phone is same)
Good lock image:
Certificate if you click on the lock and go into the certificate information there, it, shows it's good until August, 2023:

A member told me he cleared his cookies and cache and it didn't fix it.
He said he opened the site in "safe mode" in his browser and no error.
After that the regular normal site worked now too.
Not sure what that did but maybe it reset some cached thing on his local device that wasn't updating? _________________ How to Post Photos

Yeah I get the same error message as above. I dont log in to google, if that matters. The only other thing I noticed is google doesnt prompt me with user name and password, now I have to manually enter, to log into the samba, so google is doing something as a result of the " your connection is not private"
after the cert change. Why, is why I work on mechanical things instead of software, haha |

Try uninstalling Chrome and then reinstall.
Try another browser. _________________ Glenn

I'm one of the people that PM'd Everett, same red error above, the exclamation point in a red triangle, happening only on my Android Chrome (Samsung), but not on my PC. Also, when I override and proceed to Samba, the url begins with "https" but it's red with a strikethrough (no gray lock). _________________ My name's Steve and it's pronounced "Bust 'em" (cuz people think I'm Tom)

Yep, mines exactly like busstorm. I disabled chrome which forced a reinstall. Same results. Samsung galaxy tab A |

If you are able to see the certificate info, does it say it's expired?
Just curious.
On my desktop and my Droid phone I can click on the little icon and get the certificate information above in the box that comes up.
I'm not sure if it's the same on your devices though. _________________ How to Post Photos

For a bit of clarification, because I think I didn't notice this earlier:
In my url field, the red triangle with exclamation point precedes the address, so the field looks like this: red triangle, followed by https://www.thesamba.com/vw/
Another thing I noticed that's different, the warning dialog you posted above reads "Your connection is not private. However, when I tap on the red triangle in my url, I get this message:
Connection is not secure (as opposed to private)
You should not enter any sensitive information blah blah blah.
Then when I go into Details, it says:
The identity of this website isn't verified - Server's certificate is not trusted. Certificate information (<-- link)
Then when I tap on Certificate information, I can read the certificate info that matches what you posted above in your Certificate Viewer, it's laid out differently since it's on Android/phone, but it does show the renewal on May 13th, and so on, but for some reason Chrome just doesn't trust it...it doesn't say why it doesn't trust it, that's the weird part, but the dates are current per your screengrab. _________________ My name's Steve and it's pronounced "Bust 'em" (cuz people think I'm Tom)

Same exact scenario for me as busstorm
Maybe sambas web server does not have the updated cert in place when a request is made to confirm? Reboot time? |

Hmmm, mine still seems to be doing it. It's not the end of the world, but it is different and seems anomalous. _________________ My name's Steve and it's pronounced "Bust 'em" (cuz people think I'm Tom)

Uh... might not be just theSamba.
I tried to logon to my CitiBank account and getting this problem with Edge, Chrome and Firefox on a Windows 11 Pro desktop.
Both Chrome and Firefox get the error on my Android Samsung prone.
The Android app work. _________________ Glenn

I'm still having the same problem on 4 different Amazon Kindle tablets. But all our Samsung phones and my laptop are fine?? I use Google on everything except the Kindle tablets. _________________ Marc
