Is the 1.8L block an 8v? You can't just put a 16v head on an 8v block.
If you already have the 16v 1.8L block (such as the PL engine), the 1.8L head is actually a slightly better-flowing design than the 2.0L 16v (9A engine code) head. A lot of people with the 2.0L motronic engines choose to use the 1.8L heads for this reason.
What happened to your motor(s?) Or are you building up a custom setup? |

I had the 1.8 head on the 2.0 block and loved the down low with the proper timing. I think he is asking if you can put the 16V head on an 8V block. If you want something custom and bad ass, go for the ABF set up. Techtonics makes all the conversion stuff for it. All you need is your 1.8L 16V head and the ABA block (and all the stuff from techtonics). |

all you need for the abf set up is a 9a (2.0 16v engine code) intermediate shaft, and block distributor plug and pistons with reliefs for the valves. im not sure what techtonics sells for the abf swap but thats really all it is if i remember right. |

Yeah, I wasn't sure exactly which combination(s) he meant... |

Yes you can use a bubble block 9A but most people want the early ABA with the forged crank. |

but you need to put the 9a intermediate shaft, block dist block off plate, and relieve the pistons in the ABA to make it work with the 16v head making it an ABF. that way you have the oil squirters and forged crank. |

Yes, Techtonics makes the block off and intermediate swap kit. |
