I have an oil filter on my 66 convertible that uses NAPA 1065 oil filter. I bought the Fram replacement that I crossed referenced but it too long to fit. NAPA says the part is obsolete. Does any one know which filter might fit? Thanks, Brett |

Get a WIX filter with internal relief valve or risk having the filter blow out in cold weather. BTDT!
Not knowing the filter setup you have best to unbolt the filter mount and take it to the FLAPS to test fit for the correct sized and threaded filter.
WIX also makes oil filters for NAPA and paints them as a "NAPA Gold" part, and no WIX marking.
Filters with the spring inside the outlet hole have the relief valve.

This Fram page lists two filters for a cross-reference. One is slightly shorter than the other. Which one were you trying?

It's a tight fight so the filter has to be 2.25 inch or shorter on my adaptor set up. The filters are Wix # 57035, Fram PH8170, 7035NAPA & 84035 CARQUEST
I bought the Carquest filter for $10 and it fit perfect.

Mobile 1 M1-205 works great, but I prefer the WIX 51515, or the 51515R (built for higher pressures, better filtering) only available at oreillys |
