Anyone ever heard of who the manufacturer is for Matco welders? I have a line on a Matco 110 mig model # WFW12179 for a great price, but it needs a wire guide pinch roller. Anyone know who I might be able to order this from??

Thanks for the help
Gene

not sure who makes it but to get parts you may only be able to get them through matco. IMO it would be much easier to get parts from local welding store for lincoln , miller , hobart etc... 110 volts is okay but a 230 machine is better and cost less to operate.

You may want to try HTP. They sell parts for their own as well as other manufacturers. However, I would have to agree with sammyphsyco you may want to strick with the more well-known brands.

I have recommended to many people to stay wil Lincoln or Miller. Finding consumables for off-brand products can be a pain in the ass and very expensive. We have a Snap-On brand plasma torch. The consumables were way out of line. I'm talking $250-300 for new tips, swirl tubes etc. We found that the Snap-on torch was made by another company. (I'll try to remember who)..but we ordered the consumables from them and the same parts were $40 for the lot.

If you go with the Matco..find out first who makes it and what the consumables cost.

If anyone knows where I can buy consumables for a Henning-Hansen HH250 please let me know...I've been looking for a while.

Jowlz,
Have you tried Daytona Mig ... even if they don't list what you need ... they probably will know where to get it. http://www.daytonamig.com/spares.htm

I checked their site a while back. I found a guy in FL, who said he could get the consumables for the Henning unit. I called and gave him my info but have yet to hear back from him. I'll give him a few more days..then give Daytona Mig a yell. Thanks.

our matco welder is a dead ringer for the lincoln, A friend from my work has a father in law that works for lincoln on the help support line some of the models are labeled as matco. so the winner at least in my case is Lincoln. personally having used many of millers products they are a little better but all it has to do is spark and I can make it work many of the consumable parts on our selection are tweeco

i too suggest staying with the big names,Hobart-Miller, and Lincoln. Miller makes Hobart and many consumeables(tips, feed hose, nozzles, etc. interchange). here in midwest Tractor Supply carries Hobart equipment and consumables. i had a ? about a part inside my Hbart Handler 140 ,found website and got reply. Lincoln is at Homedepot. you wont be asking these ?'s if you buy a big name. yes its $$,i understand,if your just gonna use a welder now and then find used big 3 welder. im happy with my Handler 140 amp 110 volt. 220 volt sounds to much for what your implying. Northern tool has free shipping. dont buy cheap wire. buy only wire made by the big 3,cheap wont feed as well. you may discover a good working cheap wire,if so let us know.
you might want to look into Clark welders. less $,and i see them carried by many retailers...Menards. dont know anything about availability of consumeables.

yeh, if you really do your homework you'll find somebody like lincoln makes another line of welders under a differnt name. i heard the Northern tool brand welders are lincoln made, maybe reconditioned ones. dont know for sure. anyway the big 3 welder companies surely make welders sold under another name and if the consumables match up that would be a clue to me.
