Do not hesitate to use Richard Carey. I bought a solex 34 from him, German parts are a beautifull thing. DON'T BUY A NEW BOCAR!!!!!!!
The carb I got from Richard was better than the brand new Bocar (not to mention cheaper) piece of sh*t i had on my car. Quality A++++++++++

just received my german solex 30 pict-1 12 volt that richard completely rebuilt and rebushed and let me tell you the carb is show worthy! original german stuff is the way to go. richard knows his business and will go out of his way to help with what you want. prices are great too! you need a carb, you need to contact richard! thanx richard...

I just received my 30 Pict 1 and it looks great. Richard was very helpful, responded quickly to email and shipped the carb out the same day I ordered it.

I just picked up my Squareback today after my mechanic reinstalled my original dual Solex carburetors. I had a broken choke and worn throttle shaft bushings that made my car start hard and misfire a lot. Richard Carey in Wisconsin (he advertises on Samba, and is phone 608-770-2222) rebuilt and rebushed them and replaced a choke for $318 shipping included- and his work is great! My carbs were in real bad shape and after adjusting a butterfly valve, the throttle linkage, and the mixture my car feels new. I think all Rich does is old Solexes- good luck finding anyone else who knows them as well as he! :D -Tavis

I'm delighted with the 28 PICT-1 I bought from him. I'm just getting around to sending him my old one so he can bring it back from the dead and sell it to someone else. He is great.

I have bought 2 rebuilt Solex carbs from Rich Carey in Madison Wisc. This guy is one of the best to deal with, I drove to Madison and picked up the rebuilt carbs up and met Rich. We conducted business on the tail-gate of my Ford truck. George in Waukesha,Wisc. :D

I placed an order with Richard on 18.12.05 for a new Solex but havn't heard from him since, apparently his e-mail was being auto junked last time I spoke to him.
Next time I'm in contact I'll give him your details and if you can do the same.
