I’m looking to install front seats in my 1972 1302s beetle. I came across a part called 113-881-213, Runner slider
Looking at the Bentley Manual, and car manual, neither seem to mention anything about a plastic runner slider being needed.
Is this item needed and if so, where does it go? |

What? A Slider that gives you the Runs?

LOL
Anyway, I thought that that those where cosmetic. The factory parts book calls that a "Cover Strip - Runner" |

Those go on the seat rails attached to the floor pan. They’re needed to take up the space / gap between the seat rails and mating channels on bottom of the seats, and allow the seats to slide forward and backward smoothly (a very light coating of grease on them before seat installation helps). |

I have them in mine and the seats work great. |
