Uh Oh! Folks!
It appears that the mighty 3M company has stopped manufacturing their non hardening windshield bedding and Sealer
3M 08509.
Searching around it looks like a Product by C.R. Laurence Co. ........
CRL 7708 Windshield and body sealant.
is about our only option for our rubber sealed glass.

Thanks for the heads up! I was just thinking about this, after noticing wet on the DS floormat
during a recent wet week of camping...
...and again, after a more recent, <fairly> successful jalousie window install...
(Post[s] forthcoming, sorry for the tease...)

Maybe it contains PFAS (per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances) like your drinking water? |

Group buy? Looks like wholesale minimum order quantity is 12. Pair that up with a 24 month shelf life, it might not be a great item to sell individually.
If ebay fees weren't so high, I would be tempted to get a case and resell |

i deal with 3m often if its still up on their site its still available. Sounds like the cheap dying retailers are too poor to buy it ,to keep on the shelf anymore and that's all it is. Auto supply places arent the best source of income for these products since the stores just mark it up to offset their costs. buy it by the case from 3m. It's sold to commercial shops and there are at lest five places in philadelphia that still show it as listed to sell. |

I need 6 tubes in a lifetime.
My lifetime is drawing to a close,
I've already purchased my life time allotment of six tubes.
What would I do with eleven extra tubes? |

This sealant is for between the rubber window seal and the body or the seal and the glass.
Sadly, many are using a curing urethane today.
NOT THE CORRECT PRODUCT!
Though it works .......... but at a long term expense of creating a nearly impossible fix for future leaks or glass replacement.
This is non hardening and remains flexible.
It is the go to sealant for all classic cars with rubber glass seals. |

Am I the only one who read this?:
3M Product Page wrote: For industrial/occupational use only. Not for consumer sale or use.
3M industrial and occupational products are intended, labeled, and packaged for sale to trained industrial and occupational customers for workplace use. Unless specifically stated otherwise on the applicable product packaging or literature, these products are not intended, labeled, or packaged for sale to or use by consumers (e.g., for home, personal, primary or secondary school, recreational/sporting, or other uses not described in the applicable product packaging or literature), and must be selected and used in compliance with applicable health and safety regulations and standards (e.g., U.S. OSHA, ANSI), as well as all product literature, user instructions, warnings, and other limitations, and the user must take any action required under any recall, field action, or other product use notice. Misuse of 3M industrial and occupational products may result in injury, sickness, death, or property damage. For help with product selection and use, consult your on-site safety professional, industrial hygienist, or other subject matter expert.
For consumers who don't meet ^that criteria and don't need a box of a dozen tubes, CRL 7708, according to other car forums, is an equivalent.

I noticed that CL has 12% 1-star reviews vs 4% for the 3M product. Not that is a perfect metric.
I bought a couple of the 3M tubes from Amazon, but it may be old stock considering some had problems with the tube breaking. One guy duct taped the tube and all was good then.
I should have Skills politely to purchase a tube for me and bring to Transporterfest,
(BTW-slightly off topic - if you have seen Skills Suby-powered Bay Window van, you would be extremely impressed. So clean and well done. I wanted to tell him that in person, but I was afraid that I would find out that he's actually a very nice guy in person and I didn't want to ruin the image :D ) |

Extra tubes can be used to hermetically seal a coffin.
But given the 24 month shelf life of the product, you better start taking up smoking ten packs of nonfiltered Camels a day, and base jumping. |

I end to order CRL from Amazon US at 30$, so I use both 3M 08509 and CRL 7708 and I can confirm... Both cartridge are crapy stuff.
This stuff stick everywhere and there is as much who exit from the nozzle than the rear end :x
Any 3$ cartridge at hardware store work better than this.
I hate it, I hate it, I hate it so much... the only thing I hate more is the windows water ingress who ruin my van
