Hello, I recently acquired a set (5 wheels) of these period aftermarket wheels for the bug for cheap through my local Facebook marketplace :D . Though the wheels had an embossed USA behind one of its spokes, I couldn't find any info on what brand these are or if they really are made in USA.
I always found these wheels on a bug, but even then the bug is always either abandoned, on a junk yard, or on some parts car. Looks like no one wants these wheels even though it looks kinda ok in my opinion, and it would make my bug look different since any other bug in town either had EMPIs, steelies, or expensive set of Fuchs (which I could not afford).
Anyone know what brand are these, and what year they were sold? Always knew these were period aftermarket wheels but I don't know from what period.
UPDATE I found the brand, and its called Super Stream wheels. Apparently most of them came with this type of hubcap and most of them are 4x114 bolt patterns

I remember that Enkei or Sendel had a wheel that looked like that in the late ‘80s/early ‘90s. |

Aren’t they known as “Twisties”? |

I definitely wouldn’t call them “Period Correct”, they are very much 1990s era “pimp my ride” looking. |

they are 14" rims. Will not fit with disc brakes. Any other factory made Euro cars with the same bolt pattern out there back in the 80's?? |

Yes, quite similar but I think they don't offer them in 4x130 wheel bolt patterns back then though |

Yuppp! in my country the old VW scene really took of in the 80s and 90s thats why I called em period correct, since the period before those there weren't that much of a car modifying culture. |

Aw dang for real? by how much? I was thinking of putting these on my Super Beetle, maybe if it didn't clear with disc brakes, I could just use some spacers and/or adapters and try making it look like Kyusha/Shakotan Japanese style wheel fitment mods. |

i did a search with the bolt pattern and came up with : vehicles with 4 X 130 Bolt Pattern = some skoda and lancia had this bolt pattern back in 60 / 70 / 80's.
However, the rim looks to modern. Maybe there is sporty US built american / japanese car with the same bolt pattern. In inches it would be like 5.12" . Making L+R rims in 14" just for aircooled VW's is ........... |

hmmm as far as I know, only europeans have big bolt patterns. Japanese cars in the 70's mainly deal with 4x98, 4x110, 4x100, and 4x114s.
But I think I'll try fitting it first to see if they stick out or not with or without spacers at the front. |

They remind me of Yugo rims from the late 80s! |
