Hi all is there much to gain from going from the stock ignition coil to a MSD blaster coil like the one in the link below?
https://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/ignition-coils/msd-ignition-blaster-ss-ignition-coil
I only ask cause I’m getting a very weak spark now from all four plugs and I’ve installed new plugs and leads but I still have a weak spark. I’m running with the CB performance black box ignition system and using a Hall effect pick up that sits in the distributor witch replaces the stock points.

Which hall effect pickup? Some need 3 ohms resistance or more. That MSD is less then 1 and could cook many pickups

The CB black box has a coil driver. Find out if it can handle the low resistance blaster coil. Dan

I have this pick up

What pick up should I use for the MSD blaster as coil?

I’m new to all this non stock stuff how would I find that out?

This is all CB say about what works with the black box
The Black Box will connect to ignition points, aftermarket ignition modules such as Compu-fire and Pertronix, MSD distributors, CB Performance Magnaspark 2 Ready-to-run and Magnetic Trigger distributors. Most aftermarket ignition boxes can also be used such as MSD 6A, 6AL, 7AL, Summit and Mallory.

**Will not work with a Compu-Fire DIS-IX or Pertronix Ignitor 3**

Notice that your pick-up states 1.5 ohms or more is needed. I wouldnt go under 3 unless the black box enables lower resistance. Email Mark at cb

Does not matter, the black box isolates the pickup from the coil. All that matters is can the black box handle the coil.
