Great Forum! Quick question: Where are the best places to order VW parts online? The most prominent seems to be http://www.jbugs.com/, are they quick and reliable?

Can you recommend others?

Thanks much,
Garry

Depends on what you are looking for.

Most vendors sell the same stuff, but some are more specialized.

For engine parts I deal with Gene Berg, Pierside Parts and CB Performance.

CIP1 sells the same average stuff as other, but at lower prices.

Wolfsburg West sells higher quality parts.

As mentioned already, most sell the same parts. At the end of the day, we all need to do the research on what's the best quality parts available. EMPI is the worst. Most of these 'new' parts are Chinese made parts of much lower quality than original VW made parts.

As far as good vendors for general parts-

-Cip-1 sell's good parts and cheap parts. Good service, prices and service.

-Rockauto also sells good VW parts at good prices. The list different brands as well.

-Jbugs is ok as well.

-Wolfsburg West sells some good parts but also sells known junk parts. They also don't bother to respond to folks voicing concerns about junk parts either.

Agree with above.

Aircooled.net, CIP1, JBUGS, WolfsburgWest, Also...Topline for Suspension.

Rockauto is great when you have model number or know what your looking for. Amazon too but careful with that unless you know the brand.

Jbugs is fastest normally.....at least for me.

Jon at Aircooled is pretty good about telling you what is good and what is cheap.

Samba Classifieds! Not always easy but great way to get OEM parts.

JBugs and Cip1 seeem send a UPS truck here most weeks. The UPS drivers come in to see the progress on the car. (Is that a bad sign?) I've had good luck with the samba classified also. The POR-15 distributor here on the east coast somehow managed next day delivery.

All my parts are NOS and OEM quality. You won't find better electrical components.

Samba classifieds first in my book. I have scored several good usable VW German stuff that fits and works. No one mentioned West Coast Metric also. I have ordered from them and items are not to bad.
Stay away from Mid America.

We have Wolfgang Internationl here in town. I just drive a few miles and there it is. They sell the standard VW plate, but tell you if something is iffy, but also custom stuff they make in their shop out back. I've had good luck with them--especially when I needed an opinion as to a part's see ability, or a little help on how best to do this or that.

For Super Beetles, Topline Parts is good.
