Where can one get a bunch of these without buying the gaskets. I use the wolfsburg west silicone gaskets and they are reusable. They don't mean, but where can I get new crushwashers.....

I have no idea which ones are correct. They need to be copper.

From another thread
Quote: Part # 93786A125 from McMaster seals much better than the copper washers.

He is recommending something else above but it looks like the copper washers are there too

I haven't tried ordering these myself

Not sure what happened there, the link I pasted was for the page EB posted, not the index, 6mm X 9.9mm copper sealing washers are what you need. Although those bonded washers further down the page are mighty slick looking as well.

You can also buy true copper washer kits at your FLAPS or tool store. I just picked up a 110-piece assorted kit containing 30 of the 1/4" (6.35 mm) copper washers which are perfect for the six oil sump plate acorn nuts.

I also use the re-usable Wolfsburg West silicone sump plate gaskets.

I've found that some of my remaining Brazilian VW gasket kits do not contain copper crush washers. They are copper coloured, but they stick to a magnet when I test them.

Thanks for the sites.

Would anyone happen to know the size of the bigger washer used under the drain plug?

:!: ....I use 14 mm spark plug washers...if they will hold compression, they will surely hold oil (been doing this for almost 50 years)...!

The link is dead above. Where can I get just the washers? Both big and small.

sjbartnik Sun Nov 03, 2019 7:20 am

Bel-Metric.com

They have a section for copper crush washers.

The little ones are M6, the big one is M14.

VW_Jimbo Sun Nov 03, 2019 7:21 am

Why not just anneal the old ones? It works very well.

Frodge Sun Nov 03, 2019 7:32 am

How is that done?

VW_Jimbo Sun Nov 03, 2019 10:07 am

Preface. I only watched the video while watching a movie. I did not listen to what was said, but the video gives an idea of the process, as I know it.

Let's do some math.

$13.17 you get enough 6m copper washers to do 4 oil changes.

For $1.32 cents more you get enough for 10 oil changes.

Get the kits and throw the unwanted gaskets in the trash.

DesertSasquatchXploration Sun Aug 27, 2023 3:08 pm

I've dug deep into this. I wanted to provide washers with my sump gaskets kits even if I put up 900$ for washers I still can beat the Chinese crap kits. The difference is my gaskets fit like a glove and actually work. If only I could provide washers and turn a small profit all said and done im all in but its not in the cards.

25 washers is enough for 25 changes.
