Looking for places in Germany to buy parts. Stores, vendors or a good German parts website that I can order from, I visit Frankfurt frequently and would like to pick up a few items. |

I would be surprised if you found anything that you can't buy here. I don't think there's any parts made in Germany any more. Better luck in Mexico or China |

I know of a few places, but they sell the same crap from China and Brazil that we get through US suppliers.

Hi,
Käferland is right near Frankfurt, they have a great onlineshop, but I have never visited them in person. And it is true that many parts sold here are made in China and elsewhere; many shops offer parts from WW. A good parts supplier is vewib, but as far as I know you also find their parts in the US. What you might find easier and cheaper here are specific European parts never sold in the US (amber taillights and similar). Good Luck,
Alex |

Kaeferland in Frankfurt has a similar business model to Wolfsburg West, where they only offer one version of most parts, but it is the best version available, and they have a number of parts manufactured to original specifications. If they don't sell a particular part, it is often because a good version is not available in quantity. Kaeferland and WW sell each other's products. Unfortunately, Kaeferland doesn't say on their website which parts they make themselves, but they will send you a list if you ask. They ship to the U.S.
Hoffmann Speedster in Viersen doesn't ship to the U.S., only to European addresses. They also make a number of parts in-house, as shown on their website.
VW Classic Parts in Wolfsburg has a number of NOS parts and high-quality reproductions. They won't ship directly to the U.S., but you can buy from their retail partners (e.g., Paruzzi, VW Heritage, Mecatechnic).
See also Memminger in Reichertshofen for a few very nice but expensive body panels, VAG24.de in Dresden for high-quality VEWIB parts (often made from original molds), werk34 in Staufenberg for some NOS and in-house stuff, and CSP. In general, to avoid low-quality parts, stick with OEM brands or high-quality reproductions made by specialist shops. No shop is the silver bullet, it depends on what you need. |
