Hi All,

I have a rusty 1965 VW BEETLE, most of the rust was on one side as the previous owners had one side exposed to the weather for a long time.

So my question is:

Are there any howto's out there on how to replace the drip seam fold over thingoe that runs up and down the door pilar. Mine is pretty much rusted and wanted to replace it all and repair the edge of the quarter panel.

I thought of buying a front quarter and cutting what I need (or replace it all) but they aren't available for 65's (that I know of)

See pics attached.

cheers
Martin

The Big Blue Bentley covers repairing the folded seam. Mind you it was for collision repair not a rusty restoration.

Once restored, seal off the hinge entrance in the pillar. That's where the water enters. Be sure that you make water drain holes as well.
