I'd like to know if besides putting protawalls for white walls on your tires , if anyone has used the Krylon white paint for white walls and what your opinions might be, and if so any tips or tricks on using the paint rout!.... A set of cokers are a bit too expensive for me right now, though I know its the way to go.... Thanks in advance.......... |

Unless you can find a way to prevent the sidewalls from flexing I don't think Krylon is a very good option. |

Back when my Dad was a stoopid teenager he painted the tires on every one of his rides with some sort of white sidewall paint specifically labelled for the job, I suspect it was a latex based product but I have no idea if it's compatible with synthetic rubber tires. One day I'll find that dried up can and post it for all the current whitewall poser wannabees
I'd avoid the solvent based products as they may compromise the sidewall rubber and cause an unplanned ditch excursion. |

There was a day (pimpin' 80s) when you could buy a whitewall paint kit. It was spendy and marginal. I was employed at a Trimline and there was a left over kit that described the process for prepping the tires (that wrecked the sidewall) then applying the paint (that was temporary and not all-seasonal) making sure you went only 1 1/2" at the widest (nobody stopped there).
It was used to repair whitewall stripe damage- or make two blackwall dunlops match the uniroyals on the right!

I've used Krylon Fusion Plastic paint to paint hard plastic items (RV A/C Cover) but have no idea how it would work on rubber. It works great on plastic. Give it a go and let us know. |

You'll find the whitewall paint right next to the spray cans of chrome. In the Joe Dirt dept. Take bets on which will wear off first. |

I don't think I would do it, I saw a video on you tube that I can't find anymore in which a tire was hit with a grinder to take off first layer of rubber. This exposes the next layer which happens to be white. |

Yea I saw that also... Doesn't look like a good Idea. I don't think the tires I want to get have that layer of white under it.... I don't want to ruin a good set of tires.... |
