Hey guys! Thoughts on these two coolers? I'd planned for the Setrab but I can get the Derale(USA made) at cost through my job for about $140, the Setrab can be found for around $240

As far as cooling capacity goes, the Setrab has a smaller footprint, but a thicker core; the Derale is larger but with a more narrow core. I can't comment which has more surface area, but the Setrab will be of higher quality, and should be easier to package between the transmission and spring plates.

I've owned both Setrab and Derale (generic) oil coolers and I prefer the Setrab. However, both got the job done. YMMV

You can get the setrab a bunch cheaper elswhere also. I told a customer of mine to go to acn to get one. He was told a minimum 3 weeks wait time, He looked around and found it for more than 100 bucks cheaper and within 3 days, same with another customer.

You can get the Setrab $100 cheaper without that fan. You cannot buy that cooler and fan for $100 cheaper anywhere (I'd believe it if your customers found a similarly-sized Mocal cooler and fan for that price).

The lowest I've found for the Setrab is $240 shipped. Is there a good mounting location for a bus which doesn't mess with my ground clearance? The Setrab looks to be a bit taller than the Derale and this seems to be the common mounting place for a bay bus...

Setrab with fan, you just have to look

I thinks I would duct air to it then away from it too. and have fan a bit more out of the way.

Bugpack oil cooler setup with fan installed on a bay. Lots of clearance with fan on top.

My Setrab fits fine under the back of my Baja but I don't know about a bus. I have ran both and find the Setrab seems to run a bit cooler because the fan hardly ever comes on with a 180 deg switch.

The setrab cooler you mentioned is smaller than derale but more efficient. I use the model above the one you listed and customers have been very satisfied. Only additional expense with the setrab is buying the correct fittings for the cooler. When I do a installation I try to keep the hose ends with straight ends and use either 90,45, or straights on the cooler. Therefore if one needs to bypass the cooler one can use a union and c ap the cooler.
I also stock a few models of the setrab said along with the an fittings and there oil filter housing.

8 row EMPI made in Mexico cooler with scoop and no fan. Good for about 30 degrees F oil temperature reduction at 65mph. Used with Mocal thermostat and.
