I have some parts that need cleaned up (brake components, carb exterior, etc). What cleaner do you use for parts?

I use varsol, unless it's something like a carburetor, which needs a stronger solvent like a commercially available carburetor cleaner. If its just a cosmetic cleaning of a carburetor, acetone or laquer thinner works fine. I even spray it from a touch up gun to get the aerosol effect.

Super clean, it should be called f*cking clean. It will eat aluminum if you soak it. Spray it on, let it soak for a minute, then wipe or scrape it off.

For oily, greasy metal, I use mineral spirits.
