I've got those chrome wheels with the dome hub cap and they measured 5 inches wide. I'm putting a set of 175/55/15's on the front but I'm wondering if a 195/65/15 is too wide for my rim. I'd like to put those in the rear. Any prior experience? |

I have 195/60-15 tires on 5.5x15 alloys. 5" is a bit small, but they will fit. |

they will fit. but, your going to way crown out the tire in the middle. i can check when i get to work for you, but i believe a 195/65r15 is designed for at least a 6 in wide rim. you can squeeze 195/60r15 on a stco wheel , but once again teh crown affect. now if your going for look, fine. you will just burn the center of the tire down. now if your goal is actual tread contact/traction, your not gaining a thing, if anything, losong. glenns 5.5 is better than 5.0 wide only. i post later and let ya guys know. josh |

for both 195/60r15 & 195/65r15 the min. rim width is 5.5. they reccomend 5.5-7 in rim for both sizes. ideal is somewhere in between , like 6 in wide. a 5 in wide rim is really going to crown your tire like i said before. hope this helps, josh |

I put some 205/60/15's on my stock rims. It was all I had at the time. They fit...barely. They also stick out way past the rim. Looks kinda mean  . Anyway, I think yours will fit, but like 57bugman said, the will probably crown in the middle. If you like buying tires often then I wouldn't worry about it. |

just because they fit doesnt make it rt. squeezing that wide of a tire on that narrow of rim isnt a good idea. that "cool" sticking way out of the rim isnt safe. you losing alot of stabilty that way. beside not gaining any traction by stuffing that wide of a tire on that narrow of a rim. not trying to be a jerk ecdez, but making sure he gets a educated response to his question. its up to him what he wants to do in the end. but at leats he will have been given good ansewrs to base his choice on. i wouldnt run that setup. m2c josh |

but a p195/65R15 wouldnt be the worst on a 5 in wide wheel, not ideal , but not the worst. |

the rims I have are the Stack style but chrome. I think what I will do is put the 175/55/15's up from on the current rims and spend a $100 on a new pair that look the same but are 5.5 inches in the rear. Then I'll mount the 195/65/15's on the rear. Thanks for the input. |

No prob 57. Like I said, those tires were all I had at the time. And I do agree that it is not good to go that wide. I was simply stating that it could be done. Not recommended, but could be done. |
