My custom crafted race buggy (with full roll cage) weighed in at 1233 lbs and if you added lights, upholstery (full suspension seat) and carpets and full fuel load (10-12 gallons) and a few other creature comforts like a windshield, you may add 200-250 pounds...

| I weighed my manx style buggy before I converted it to electric drive in 1998. The weight with VW power was 1100 lb. The front weighed 370 lb. and the rear weighed 730 lb. The gas tank was low, but not so low I had turned the reserve handle. The weights where with my out of the car. I used the certified scale at a local recycle center. |

My buggy weighs 1540 lbs. with me in it. I account for 220 lbs of that with my lard butt.
No roll bar but lots of power adding accessories...;) |
