Hey Guys,
I searched around, but I can't find a direct answer.
Can I install the Propex HS2000 turned sideways? (so it doesn't have the downward intake and exhaust pipes facing downward) Or does it have a specific orientation?
Thanks! |

On it's side is fine, just not on end. What mounting location do you have in mind that will require this? |

Its going under the bench seat (nothing special) -- but I have my amp and sub box under the seat as well as the stock heater there, so space is a bit....limited. I know theres room, I just have to scratch my head some more.

Two options: get rid of the rear heater, or put it against the rear wall - making sure the pipes clear the body bracing in the right spot. |

I was thinking I could make some supports that run side to side (from the sub box to the bench seat side piece) and have the propex unit sit above the rear heater unit. The intake and exhaust ports (with a bit of an S shape) would go through the floor behind the rear heater.
Rough measuring seems to agree this will work, but I get the unit tomorrow and I can really see how it all fits. |

What would you call the splitter that is needed for the different propane lines? What is the threading needed?
3 to 1 brass splitter thingy? |

If you still have a gas fridge and stove, then you'll need a 4-way to replace the tee already on the regulator. The threads are 3/8" NPT. Available from www.mcmaster.com. (I sell these also)

50785K234, 50785K153, 50915K716 are the part numbers needed to duplicate what is in the photo. |

Karl,
Sorry, I get the unit today in the mail, but I'm heading to the hardware store this afternoon during my lunch.
Few more questions: what size hole saw's do you use? I read the output is a 3-3/4" hole, what do you use for the intake and exhaust flus?
Also is the gas connection to the unit just 3/8 NPT or is it a flared connection?
what size fuse do you use on the unit?
Thanks! |

1-1/4" on the intake and exhaust holes. Seal around them with red RTV silicone sealant. The gas connection uses 1/4" LGP-rated copper tubing, and the fitting is supplied with the heater, as is the fuse. |

In case you were wondering, it IS possible to make it all fit. Just had to get a bit creative with some aluminum stock I had laying around the garage.
Here's the support brackets to suspend it:
and heres where the exhaust and intake and propane line will come through the floor:
Hopefully will finish it up tomorrow night! |
