A couple months ago i was cruising through Gainesville, Florida when i went down a wrong road and drove up to an oldschool looking VW repair shop with lots of beetles out front. Its was kind of small and crammed, yellow building i believe. Anyway, i was in a hurry and didnt have time to stop, but have been meaning to go back, however i cannot find it.
Has anyone ever been there and know how to get there?
Gotta rebush some connecting rods and maybe ask for a job every couple of weeks. 8) |

Check in the business listings under the community section and you will find 2 shops in Gainesville, maybe one of them is the one you went by. My gues is its the second one. Do a quick google for location/address.

Hugo is the man.. He has been in business for 36 plus years. My wife was driving home in our 1976 VW Bus when it started sputering and stopped after being off the highway. I called Hugo after finding him on the vw site thesamba.com and told him what was going on. I was not with her on this leg of the journey. We towed our sick bus to his shop. He had some ideas of what was wrong and got parts from suppliers before she arrived in two hours time. After my wife showed up he looked at it and found the ignition switch in the dash was at fault. He called one in and started working on it and gave my wife his personal car to go get something to eat while waiting for it to be finished. 1hr service fee and less than $120 she was back on the road.
Super nice guy and was totally honest. VW People are so FANTASTIC! I highly recommend Hugo's Auto repair Service. |

Hugo's for sure.
I called to see if he could fit in a quick oil change, but he said he was booked solid. He said if I could do it myself I could do it at the shop.
And that's what I did. He told me where to get a Mann filter and he took care of my old oil. Helped out with a few pointers and a story or two as well.
I highly recommend him.
