hey guys, got this husky 30 gallon recently and want to change the oil..but i have no manual and cant find anything online except the 60 gallon and its different.
Do you think i just unscrew that nut with the glass window and red dot to change the oil? i cant find anything else.

Rick

well i found alittle hex bolt in the front of pump, i think that was it..either way it drained the oil ..at least most of it..
In case someone is still reading this...if you have this compressor and have a manual..i would be glad to pay you to copy it and send it to me, plus some. thanks

Looks about the same as the 60 gal. pump and motor. The Husky is just a rebranded Campbell Hausfeld, so you could probably find the manual on the CH site.

The hex plug is right for draining the oil. I like to let it run a bit and get warm first, also unscrew the breather and oil will flow out better.

Zip,

I have one of those compressors, and you do drain the oil via the hex bolt as you've surmised. However, when these are new, they come with a 2 - 3" extension pipe and cap that screws in and replaces the hex bolt so that oil changes are much less messy. That nut with the glass window and red dot is just an oil level gauge. Fill it so that the oil level is to the red dot when the unit is level. Hope this helps.

Mr Squared,

Very interesting, glad you told me about that extension, it did seem kinda poor to 'squish' something up against the tank so the oil didnt dribble all over the place...lol
question sir: that white plug on mine is an oil gauge...and it says full but the oil is not up to red dot like your saying...i dont think the tank is that unlevel but i will check...dosent yours have a oil gauge, like mine?
