While checking about different longblocks on various websites, ive noticed they all have reground cams, cranks, and lifters. So, what does reground mean? Thanks!
P.S. Is reground bad? |

They have been ground to removed imperfections or wear marks and what not. |

That is not correct. A reground camshaft is a used camshaft that has basically been ground down to certain specs. There are some problems with reground camshafts, the first is that the base diamater of the camshaft can be much smaller than stock, which could potentially weaken the camshaft. I really wouldn't go with a budget longblock. In the end it's not going to be any cheaper. If you want to go budget because you need to get your car up and running, get a budget 1600 and then start building a longblock with new or lightly used parts.

I agree, reground cam and lifters mean as cheap as I could possibley build the engine and have it run. IMHO |

Scott not to arue or anything but when they grind them down to the NEW specs they are removing the Wear Spots and imperfections from being used. |

 Yep... you are right. Maybe I should have said in addition to removing the wear spots and imperfections they regrind to original specs, BUT make the base diameter and lobes smaller.
