I have a nice set of cheapo MB 15" wheels to put on my Westy.
BUT, I called a powder coater here and they want $60 to $75 to do aluminum wheels (each). That is $240+ (!!)
I know many of you have had wheels powder coated -- Is this close to what others have been charged? |

Just this past week had an occasion to get a quote from a local place for non-VW wheels -- sandblast & PC was $75 per wheel. |

That sounds pretty close. I paid $50 per wheel, that was sandblasting, and powdercoating. They do cost money. |

yup, that sounds right on price wise for powdercoating alloy rims.

wow - no wonder people use spray cans - I'd like it to last a while tho...
I know p/c used to be pretty cheap around here, but I haven't had any done for years.
Thanks for the replies. |

Just did a search looking to have this question answered and found this thread.
Indy Powder Coating (http://www.indypowdercoating.com) will do 14" wheels for $30 a piece. They are well-known locally for doing great work so this seems like a good deal. It is nice to have two of the largest race tracks in the world five miles from my house. I can barely throw a rock and not hit a great fabricator, painter, machinist, mechanic, tire expert, etc.
The price doesn't include sandblasting, though. How much should I expect to have four wheels sandblasted? |

I just had a set wheels done. Blasted, epoxy primer, and powder coated.
$260 cash. I would find a shop that does it all in house. My thinking would be that would you want to take your wheels to a shop that can not properly prep them for paint? |

I took mine to Seattle powdercoat, they stripped off the new silver finish and did it up in a heavy black texture. Ran me 430 with tax on a set of five.
I am done painting wheels.. and done with the fumes.
You guys posted some good prices. |

$100 rim is what my profession wheel guy charges to true the wheel, sand blast, prep, fully powder coat the entire rim and mount and balance with new tires that I provide. |

Received this answer from IDS Blasting in Indy today (they're the ones recommended by Indy Powder Coating):
"If the rims are powder coated, they could be as much as $60-$80.00 each. If they just have paint on them, they will be $30-$70.00 each." |
