Hello folks- I repectfully submit an announcement for the BPA's Family Reunion- here's this year's skinny!
The Bus Pilots Association is once again proud to announce the largest VW show in Idaho! Mark your calendar for the 17th Anniversary of the BPA Family Reunion- moved to June 24-26. This full weekend event mixes a cruise with a rally, a swap meet with a river float and stirs in a great show for a complete experience! The Family Reunion invites all VW models and involves several family-oriented activities. We may be the Bus Pilots- but we’ve always been open to watercoolers- so make sure you 32-valve folks are ready!
The weekend starts with a Sonic Drive Inn/Cruise on Friday evening- and for the first time- The Navigational Road Rally follows! With nighttime approaching- it is sure to be a unique twist on road rallies of the past.
By moving the Rally to Friday Night- we are able to again offer a proper Swap Meet! After a Saturday morning Breakfast, head down to the Swap Meet- and find something shiny for the car show Sunday. Afterward- join us for a float down the scenic Indian Creek.
Sunday morning, grab donuts and head to a great new venue. Lakeview Park, 25 minutes away from last year’s locale, let’s us finally have space between the cars- and room for everyone! As the day’s temperatures rise- we’ll have plenty of shade- and we’ll be able to park on the grass. Family Reunion culminates with music, vendors, raffles, participant-judged classes and an awards presentation.
Please visit our website, http://www.buspilots.com for updates about the weekend and to learn more about our club.
Thank you! Bradford |

Can you provide an address for the new location?
Maybe a Google map?
Where is the swap meet? Same request as above.

Absolutely. Lakeview Park is the best one in Nampa- on Garrity Blvd and 16th. It's a huge park that is wonderfully car-show friendly. We are trying it this year due to completely out-growing Ann Morrison Park. This park also offers less worry about the kiddies- closed off just for us- and the traffic throughout will be folks who want to see VWs and hang out with us!
We look forward to having activities all over this year. The Cruise and Navigational Rally in Downtown Boise- the Swap meet in Boise on the bench- the River Float in Kuna- and of course, the main show in Nampa.
Thank you for your inquiry! |

Folks- for whatever reason (likely 8 year old Dell Laptop related)- I cannot easily attach Google Maps to this thread. I'll call on another Pilot of two to update this thread for me. Meanwhile- I'm calling the Geek Squad...
Thank You, Bradford |

Man I can't believe it's just three short days away!
I just pre-ran the Navigational Rally with my 12 yo navigator/daughter. Should be another good one.
Those looking for my elusive rally clues: The keywords are "BPA history" and clues that appear in exact quotes...
Hope to see a few Sambaphiles here this weekend in Idaho! |

Thanks for a great show Bus Pilots!
I guess that means me too, since i just signed up.
The swap meet was good and I picked up a few things. Good idea to
reinstate the swap meet.
The Lakeview Park was a great new location. Lots of room to park on the
grass under mature trees.
It was nice to have the key maker Gabriel at both the swap and the show.

Thanks Dan- glad you had a good time!
Naturally I'll share your praise with the rest of the organizers.
I second the big Thank you to Gabriel! He is one classy guy- and very supportive of our club and the bus scene.
Another huge Thank you to the amazing Utah group! Samba folks should take notice. A huge group of folks from three different Utah regional clubs took over. Eight vehicles drove, while one saved tread. In what has become standard roadtrip behavior with Bus Pilots for years- the Utah guys and gals drove here, hogged all our trophies- and took all our women!
Great support from our friends to the South. It's up to the BPA to step up it's game when the No Show comes around in a couple months.
Thanks again to everybody who made a big transitional year successful.
