Are P195/75R14 Tires ok for my 67 bus?
Thats what was on it when it pulled out of a junk yard years ago.

I run 195/70's up front and 205/75's in the rear... Load C is the recommended rating but as many here have said many of us run pretty close to empty. I like the taller tire for highway use..

I just bought some 195/75 BFGs and they fit no prob.

ive ran that size for years and have taken many cross=country trips with no problems. P205/70r14 or 205/75r14 would hurt either. some people prefer the 6 or 8 ply tires for strenght. i have no experience with those myself but i know eveyone that has them loves them. if you go that route id run the 195r14s. i think the 185r14 are to short of a tire.

I was in the "passenger tires are good enough" camp for a while, but then I had belt separations on two of them within 100 miles on a trip across the desert. I wasn't all that heavily-loaded either. Something about a bus needs stronger tires.

I saved a little hassle and money in buying passenger tires, but it cost me a lot more hassle and expense trying to find correct tires while away from home.

Since then, 185R14 load range C or D, accept no substitutes. Don't believe the counter guy's BS that the size is "obsolete" or "superseded". He's just trying to switch you to a size that he has in stock.

If you must run 195/75R14, you have to use load range D. Load range C is not as strong in the lower profile.

I bought a set this winter from http://Tirecrawler.com, this was the best deal on the West Coast at the time.

Get them balanced....

I got these for my 87' Wolfsburg Vanagon. I also painted the rims at the same time. Mounting these expensive-ass tires on the old rims equates to high heels on your grandmother.

Paint your rims if you do take the plunge and get these tires... my .02.

You will love the "D" rating, the side-walls really improved the stability of the ride, but there is a sacrifice in acceleration and breaking distance... they weigh 31lbs a piece; gas mileage goes down as well. But I do love the way they look on a split bus.

In a word...yes. $125 a piece through tire rack. then mount and balance. Though they couldn't balance them for me. I couldn't help myself though. I have them on both my jeep and my dodge.

Gasp.
We have a set on our '98 Dodge Dakota- they were nearly new when we purchased the truck.
They are just the thing offroad, that's for sure, and have that tuff gnarl look.

I paid $106.27 each, for five of them.... plus the shipping, (only a short distance so it wasn't much). I paid a $100 for the paint work at a "homeboy shopping club" back alley paint shop, and had a friend that owns a tire shop mount and balance them for $20... I felt like I got a good deal all the way around. I am very pleased with my purchase, and would recommend these tires to anyone that is even slightly interested in them.

Don't get me wrong, I love these tires. It's just that $500 plus shipping is a bit much for such a small tire. I bought 4 32x11.5s for my jeep with rims, mounted and balanced and shipped to my door for just over a grand.

You will not be dissatisfied with this tire, at the current rate per tire...

Not sure if this link will work, but here goes...

http://tirecrawler.com/shop/detail_tire.php?product_id=8939

if not, just run the figures. They ar less than a Dollar more this year, that's chump change bro...

I ran 195/75/14s before and after I flipped my spindles to drop me 3.5 inches. I never rubbed. Thats why I was never scared running a lower tire in the end. (185/55/15)
